We're about honesty, simplicity, and the feeling of a cold beer shared with mates, with a vibe that's humble, warm, and welcoming to everyone.
From our Dining Hall overlooking the water to the lively Bar with all the action, right out to the spacious Deck with its outdoor fireplace and playground, every corner invites you to disconnect so you can finally reconnect, and make lasting memories in true Great Northern style.

We're excited to announce the first ever Great Northern hospitality venue, Northern Grounds Sunshine Coast (formerly Waterfront Hotel). We're currently under renovation, but we're still open! Please enter via the function room for dining, and please use the car park at the back of the venue (front caraprk is currently closed). Keep an eye on our website and social pages to stay up-to-date.

The Dining Hall is the heart of Northern Grounds, a spacious area that spills out onto the deck with stunning water views. This is where you'll find mates gathering for lunch and dinner, sinking schooners, and sharing a yarn by the cosy fireplace. With 24 taps flowing, there's always something happening. It's the perfect spot for good food, good company, and that unmistakable feeling of the great outdoors.

An expansive area flowing onto the deck, the Bar at Northern Grounds is your go-to for catching all the action with mates. Choose from 24 taps pouring ice cold beer, grab a bite from our full menu and settle in to soak up the lively atmosphere.

The Lodge at Northern Grounds is the perfect spot for making memories that'll last longer than a good yarn by the campfire. It's where mates gather, glasses clink, and good times roll, no matter the reason for the celebration. It's the perfect backdrop for taking a load off, where every gathering feels like it belongs in a story worth telling.
